Things are not all right for the 17 year old underage bingo player who lied about her age, played bingo and then went and scooped a £200k jackpot prize at the Commodore Club in Ryde (Isle of Wight).
The bingo girl does not have a leg to stand on regarding getting payment. No gambling or player advocate will touch a 17 year old underage gamblers dispute with a bargepole, neither would I.
The underage bingo player called house on a nationwide link up game in 35 numbers. Now she won't get any winnings, a lucky London man gets the £200k bingo jackpot after completing the full house on the next ball pulled from the hopper.
Online Bingo.co.uk covered the unfortunate story, here is the nitty gritty.
NOT ALL WIGHT FOR UNDER AGE PLAYERA 17-year-old girl has seen her bingo dreams turn to dust after being denied a massive £200,000 bingo jackpot win.
The unnamed girl was playing at the Commodore Club in Ryde, on the Isle of Wight, when she hit the full house in just 35 numbers.
But her jubilation turned to utter despondency when club officials found out that, not yet being 18, she had broken UK gaming laws.
A spokesman for the
National Bingo Games Association (NBGA) commented: "The young woman had joined the Commodore Club that evening, signing a declaration that she was 18.
"Subsequently the club and the NBGA were informed that she was only 17 and therefore not legally old enough to join a club and play bingo. The legal age is 18, therefore the claim was invalid and the prize cannot be paid to her."
