Danny Shittu has his own website by the way.

Not every QPR fan will know about it. Big Dan does the odd match report and gives a good insight into how the defence is getting along. Makes for a good read sometimes, if you are a QPR fan of course.

Milanese A Decent Centre Back

Milanese happy with central role

QPR are short of centre backs and Milanese (34) is happy to play there. In fact, he has played in the middle before in Italy. Even though Milanese is predominately a left back, he is decent enough to play there for us jusging by his recent performance.Ian Holloway was impressed by Milanese at centre back, after Santos injured went off against Hull. Holloway said he may well play Milanese in the centre again in the future.

QPR 2 Hull 2

QPR managed to scrape a 2-2 draw at home to Hull, who have not been going too well recently themselves.

From the commentary I heard Ranger uotply Hull in the first half, only to go in 1-0 down.

The second half started the same. Against the run of play QPR went 2-0 down and I feared the worst. Gladly for Rangers Wild Thing Ainsworth produced and got us level with a brace.

Late on the Hull goalie was sent off, we were all over Hull after that, but could not get the winner.

We are 6 points off the playoff spots still, but not far away from relegation either. If Rangers don't start getting some points in the bag, we will be drawn into a relegation battle. If we persevere with Rowlands and Langley in the centre of midfield, we will remain light on combativeness.

Of course, Bircham, Lomas and Doherty are injured. Not sure why our last "somewhat" combative midfielder Bean has'nt started in the last 2 games. Gladly Holloway knows what he is doing, even if I remain somewhat baffled. I am no football team manager though, so that point probably explains my confusion. I must admit, I can't work out whether Bean is a combative midfielder, a ball player, or neither either.

When our first team is out, it strikes me that Holloway does'nt have faith in the back-up. Maybe he is right, maybe not. We shall see.

QPR 0 - 2 Preston

QPR 0 - 2 Preston

QPR are in bits at the moment. That is 4 games straight we have been turned over. Furlong has been out for those 4 games unsurprisingly. With Nygaard injured we are getting nowhere fast up front.

Bircham is out, Lomas is out, Milanese is out. It is grim down south at the moment.

We were in the game in the first half, the second proved somewhat different.

Lloyd Dyer failed to deal with with his defensive duties on 59, allowing a decent enough pass through to Agyemang, who duly set up Nugent for the first. His first touch of the game after coming on as a sub for Preston.

With 5 to go, Marcus Bignot fell apart in defence and the ball was tapped in and that was that. A 2-0 reverse at Loftus Road.

Holloway will be as miffed as the fans. We always have a spell like this during the season. It is just depressing.

Plymouth 3 QPR 1

QPR lost 3-1 away to Plymouth which is very disappointing.

Never got to see the game, caught the score on the teletext.

I gather Shabazz Baidoo was the only highlight for QPR. Apart from that nothing apart from of course, like the rest of us, Ian Holloway was not amused.

Read the full QPR V Plymouth match report at QPRnet.com, if you can handle such a depressing 5 minutes.

Marcus Bean Sure Talks A Good Game

TISW >> He's Bean and Gone > Marcus Bean Sure Talks A Good Game

Marcus Bean is 21. He has played in the QPR first 11. Mr Bean was not impressive. It is still not clear whether Bean is a ball-player or ball-winner. He sure talks a good game though.QPR Blog Comment >> Marcus Bean wants to get down to improving his lot by improving his game, not moaning about whatever it is next that peeves his poor little soul. If he were that good, he would not be on loan at Swansea. If he were that good, Swansea would'nt drop him from the squad in case they upset some of their own players, simple as that.

Ian Holloway In Depth Interview

Independent >> Ian Holloway - In a league of his own > Ian Holloway In Depth Interview

Ian Holloway interviewed in depth by Robert Chalmers. >> There is no way to shorten the Holloway interview. Those who want to will have to wade through it word by word. A great interview with Holloway in my opinion. One for the archives. QPR Blog Comment >> Our Gollum is clearly a crazy man. Probably a bit too honest for this world.

QPR 1 - 2 Reading

QPR Report >> Various Other Match Reports all saying QPR 1 Reading 2 > QPR 1 Reading 2

QPR 1
Cook 47
Reading 2
Harper 10, Ingimarsson 66

Reading left Loftus Road with all 3 points but never deserved them in my opinion. Sturridge went off injured just before half time. I am beginning to doubt whether Sturridge will ever regain his fitness, therefore his form. I guess he will be released at the end of the season. He will certainly go if things carry on like the same.

Unlucky Rangers >>
Reading stole an early goal within 10 minutes. We fought hard to get back into the game with a makeshift side and did so just after the break through Cook.

We had them pinned back somewhat and boom. Ingimarsson got free out of nowhere and we were chasing again. In the end, we can say we played ok and were unlucky to not get a point.

Keep The Faith >>
I just hope the boys don't lose faith, because Furlong will be back soon and there are a lot of games still left to play. A decent run can take us up and in the running for a playoff spot, a bad run can take us right down into a relegation battle. That will be a bad thing and the fans will turn on Holloway, which will add more pressure.

I don't think we are in a position to challenge for promotion on a financial basis. Holloway is doing a fine job overall with the available resources any QPR manager will have to call upon. QPR Blog Comment >>

QPR And Reading Walking Wounded

BBC >> QPR v Reading > The QPR and Reading Walking Wounded

QPR walking wounded >>
Up front Paul Furlong is suspended for another 3 games. We missed his presence up front against Watford, especially with Nygaard injured too. I gather Nygaard picked up another injury in training (calf strain) after the Watford game. I hope I am wrong. Kevin Gallen is doubtful too

Midfielders Marc Bircham, Steve Lomas and Martin Rowlands are still out. Lee Cook is fit again to play on the left hand side.

In defence Matthew Rose is still injured. I guess left back Milanese will be fit to play. The on loan Lloyd Dyer has performed well. Maybe Milanese will be benched again or maybe Dyer will play at left midfield and Cooke will be benched.

We shall see tomorrow.

Reading walking wounded >>
Reading boss Steve Coppell is set to name an unchanged side with Brynjar Gunnarsson (groin) still a doubt. Leroy Lita (shin) remains sidelined and Chris Makin sustained an ankle injury during the 1-0 win at Stoke.

Come on you R's!

Watford 3 - 1 QPR

Watford 3

QPR 1

We started with Gallen at left wing, Cook on the bench. Sturridge was up front next to Stephan Moore, Nygarrd on the bench. The first half was all Watford, we were lucky not to go in 3-0 down.

The second half Cook, Langley and Nygaard came on but Watford just went and scored against the run of play, when we did eventually get into the game for 10 minutes. The final goal came straight from a free-kick, that was'nt a shot at goal but an inswinger at the back post.

Holloway will not be pleased. A very disappointing performance. Holloway will be wondering why he brought the injured Cook and Nygaard along. Milanese was on the bench too. Gallen also got injured so we ended up playing with 10 men. Strength in depth or lack of it, was certainly a factor in this defeat.
