Holloway has been a keen admirer of Tommy Docherty for a good while. I am sure Holloway was glad to see Doherty listed by Bristol City at the end of last season. Docherty started thre 2004/2005 season as the Bristol City captain, but Docherty was stripped of the captaincy by B-City in February and later listed after 3 disciplinary bans.
Welcome to Loftus Road Tommy Doherty! Just don't get sent of the pitch any more.
This is great news for QPR. We could'nt afford to replace Danny Shittu, despite his lack of positional sense in my opinion. What we need is a to sign up a good partner for Big Dan - or hopefully recent defensive signing Ian Evatt (32) is just that.
We shall see.
Welcome back Danny who never went ~ I thought you were going to leave us.
Jake Cole Gets His Chance >> Apparently QPR's 5th goalie last season, will be promoted to backup goalie behind new signing Simon Royce.
QPR manager Ian Holloway released goalkeeper's Chris Day and Generosso Rossi at the end of the 2004/2005 season, plus Nick Culkin retired with a longstanding knee injury.
Theat leaves QPR with 2 goalkeepers ~ Royce and Jake Cole.
Holloway Said >> I'm not sure we can afford three goalkeepers.
I'll have a good look at young goalie Jake cole and alternate him with Simon Royce in the pre-season games. There should be a situation where we can use emergency loans if we need to during the season.

QPR have announced the impending signing of 21 year old striker Stephan Moore from Aston Villa FC dependant on Stephan passing a medical.
Stephan Moore played in 28 games for the Villa and spent time on loan at Millwall, Leicester and Chesterfield.
Amazingly enough, Aston Villa manager David O'leary allowed Stephan Moore to leave on a free transfer even though Stephan had 18 months left on his contract left to run at the Villa.
Hopefully Stephan Moore will prove to be a great foil for Paul Furlong and will be a decent QPR player for many years to come. Quite a coup as far as a free transfer signing I think.
I think Holloway must have bamboozled O'leary with his Ollyisms and O'leary let QPR sign Stephan Moore for nothing, just so David did'nt have to speak to Holloway on the phone for a minute longer.
QPR LSA - QPR Calender Girls >> There will be a QPR calender out soon, edited by QPR fan "YLeeKyoti" this year with some QPR ladies in it. Click the link above to the QPR LSA forum for a sneak preview of the QPR girls who will be featuring in the QPR 2005/2006 calender.
Exactly what "Sir Les Ferdinand" did to get an MBE I am not sure. Good service to football I suppose.
However, I have no problems with Sir Les getting honoured, Sir Les has been Sir Les down at QPR since 1984, so no complaints here.
I was hoping Sir Les would sign for QPR this season to finish his career down at Loftus Road, but it seems unlikely Ferdinand will be signing up again. Maybe Sir Les has really retired now.
Ian Holloway was keen on signing the young 21 year old forward Paul Haynes, but Barnsley FC got in there first and tucked up a deal to sign Haynes within a 24 hour period according to QPR Mad
QPR mad also reckon QPR are after signing Chris Powell and Stephan Moore >> Left back Chris Powell (35) has been released by West Ham and Stephan Moore (21) looks unlikely to come to QPR as Aston Villa will want more than £500,000 and still see the 21 year old Moore as a promising youngster with a bright future ahead of him at at Villa Park.
QPRnet.com - No Dennis Wise For QPR - Yet >> Dennis Wise will not be signing for QPR apparently. Well, not yet anyway, it all depends on how things pan out before and during the season.
Also >> Southampton boss Harry Redknapp is rumoured to be interested in signing Dennis Wise.
Ian Holloway Said About Not Signing Dennis Wise - Yet "I thought of Dennis Wise purely because of the window. It's a situation that would have been totally new and I wondered where I could get that kind of quality player to add to my options in midfield.
Now it looks like there isn't going to be a full window and that'll be a huge relief for all of us.
I've got a lot of respect for Dennis Wise, I know what he's like as a trainer and a player and he understood that he'd get other opportunities, but he was still keen to talk to me.
Probably nothing's going to happen, but if he's still at a loose end come the start of the season, who knows?
I need another option in midfield, maybe two and there are some possibilities that are quite exciting if we can make them happen."
Holloway said >> "Cardiff are paying him double what we were and I can't meet those wages," said Holloway, who sold the 25-year-old to Cardiff for £250,000 in August 2003.
"I can understand why some Cardiff fans don't like Richard but you have to give him a chance. He's a terrific player."
QPR Blog Comment >> It was upsetting to see Richard Langley leave QPR to sign for Cardiff - who beat us in the 2nd division play-off final in 2003. Especially as it was Richard Langley's hothead that got him suspended from playing in that infamous playoff final. That day, Gallen had to fill in at right midfield in Langley's absence, with Richard Pacquette taking Gallen's place up front. It was Richard Pacquette's last game for QPR, which talls me all I need to know about how Holloway felt about Pacquettes performance on the big day.
Richard Langley will have to play some and then some if he sign's, to be forgiven by many QPR fans for leaving us to go to Cardiff of all teams.
I will support Langley, but am still not happy with Richard atall. I get the feling Langley won't agree to a sign up for a 50% pay cut to return to QPR, so I doubt Langley will be coming back anyhow.
The football course for kids runs from the 21st to the 26th of August 2005 at the Victualler's School - Ascot
Danny Shittu Said The Ultimate Player and Football Development Camp. I'll be at the camp everyday, helping develop footballing talent.
I currently play for Queens Park Rangers Football Club - a lot of people would say that I have enjoyed what can be classed as a successful footballing career but in my mind I feel like I still have a lot to accomplish. Having arrived into football through unconventional methods Iâ??ve pursued my learning of the game through hard work and perseverance.
I decided that I wanted to play professional football when I was 18 after finishing two years in College. Footballing wise, all I had done previously was play for a local team in East London for a short period and spent a couple of months at Fulham FC at the age of 15. After a few months there, I was offered a scholarship (YT) but I turned it down as I wanted to go to college and also because at that time I enjoyed athletics and volleyball more
QPR Official - Ian Evatt Has Signed Up >> An undisclosed fee, in the 6 figure range, has secured the services of Chesterfield captain Ian Evatt. Evatt (23) has signed up to play for QPR for 3 years apparently.
The QPR official website says Ian Holloway is a longstanding admirer of Evatt. It say's Evatt has been bombarded with calls from other clubs, but wants to play for QPR. Ian Evatt even asked if QPR would fly someone out where he is on holiday to get signed up, so he could tell everyone he is a QPR player as soon as possible.
Nice to have Evatt on board. Hope there are many good times ahead for Evatt, the latest QPR superhoop.
Chesterfield Official - QPR Want Ian Evatt >> QPR are chasing Ian Evatt and Chesterfield are allowing QPR to hold talks with their captain because in Evatt's contract, it say's they will allow the defender to talk to any clubs who put in a 6 figure bid to sign the 23 year old defensive player.
QPR Official - Evatt In Talks >> QPR have confirmed they are in talks with Ian Evatt, Chesterfield's player of the year for 2004 and captain. Ian Evatt, 23, can play in central defence and in central midfield.
QPR chairman Bill Power said "The lad is on holiday at the moment. Evatt is back on friday and hopefully we will be able to sort out everything from there.
