This year's US Open had 30 teams made up of 200 researchers who battled it out in the three-day robot games.
Of the five events, robot dog football remains the most popular.
In it, computer-programmed Sony Aibos look for the ball using cameras on their noses, communicate with each other over a wireless network and attempt to score goals, with the exception of the specially-programmed goalkeeping dog.
QPR Blog Comment >> I think we should sign one of these football playing robots and play it next to Shittu because we are sure finding it hard to get Shittu a decent partner to play back there, with Santos filling in in midfeild and up front so often.
Chelsea FC will be moving to their new Cobham training ground and we will be able to move from our Twyford avenue training ground in Acton.
QPR Blog Comment >> Let's hope the new training ground in Harlington and the increased quality of our training facilities equates to improved performances at Loftus Road and on the road.
Royce to sign for Rangers >> Goalkeeper Simon Royce has agreed terms with QPR and will complete his switch from Premiership club Charlton on 1 July.
The 33-year-old, whose contract at the Addicks expires this summer, will pen a two-year deal with Rangers.
Royce has already enjoyed two loan spells with Ian Holloway's side, the second coming at the end of this season when he made 13 appearances and kept six clean sheets.
Dennis Wise (39 apparently) is rumoured to be about to sign for QPR for next season. I do not know if the rumour that Ian Holloway has offered Dennis Wise the opportunity to sign a contract to play for QPR ~ but I think it warrants a mention.
Surely this is just a rumour.. I figured Bircham and Bean could cover the midfield ball winning duties.
Maybe QPR will sign Dennis Wise's ex assistant manager Ray Wilkins from Millwall too.. A creative midfielder like Super Ray Wilkins is what we need I think... It is just aswell Ian Holloway knows what he is doing. Trying to keep up with Holloway is not easy from here, that's for sure.
Madcap Ian Holloway Some of Mourinho's more unhinged comments almost rivalled the outbursts from the bonkers Bristolian - but only the QPR boss can be the winner here.
There are almost too many to choose from, but we will settle for these comments about a reporter who claimed QPR defender Danny Shittu would be sold.
'Whoever that was, I'd like to pull his pants down and slap him on the arse like I used to do to my kids. Apparently I'm not even allowed to do that any more otherwise I'll have the health and safety on to me giving it the old 'hello'.'
QPR Blog Comment >> Holloway is madcap for sure and is not famous for his Ollyisms for nothing.
Scunthorpe Snub Butler Bid >> The Glanford Park centre back would cost nearer 500k rather than the 300k QPR boss Ian Holloway offered for the 21 year old to Scunthorpe
Andy Butler still has 3 years to run on his Iron's contract, so he will be going nowhere soon unless the money Scunthorpe want is matched.
QPR Blog Comment >> Disappointing news, if the QPR Mad.co.uk report is accurate. I guess after releasing Chris Day and the possibility of Generoso Rossi leaving, Holloway will be hot on the trail of Simon Royce who is out of contract at Charlton this summer.
QPR Official Site - Chris Day Speaks >> Chris Day has left QPR after being released by Holloway. Judging by Chris Day's words on QPR Eileen's - he would like to stay. I hope the goalkeeper that takes Chris Day's place in the QPR side cares half as much about QPR, as Daisy does.
Steve Coppell said "Les Ferdinand and Martin Keown, our two most recent signings will both be leaving Madejski Stadium,
"They were both brought in to do a specific job this season. We never made the play-offs so I just feel that now is the time to finish it and they won't be offered deals."
Neither player has said for certain what they will do next year, and of the two Les would appear more likely to hang up his boots."
QPR Released Players Discussion >> Out of contract players Jamie Cureton, Chris Day, Tone Thorpe and Richard Edghill have all been from the first team squad by Ian Holloway. Youngsters Lewis Hamilton and Wesley Thomas are also leaving QPR. QPR Official - Released Players
QPRnet.com do some great interviews with past and present QPR players and personalities. I see an interview in there too with Referee Clive Penton ~ boo.
Anyway, the latest QPR player interview is with the one and only Super Ray Wilkins
It only took QPRnet's Ron Norris 3 years to get Ray Wilkins to do an interview, so have a look.
QPR Official - Cardiff 1 QPR 0 >> Jobi Macanuff put Cardiff ahead in the 27th and no matter how hard QPR tried, the equaliser remained too elusive.
Generoso Rossi started in goal again. I hope he turns out to be as good as I think he may be. Rossi could well be a top signing for Holloway, regardless of his possibly wayward character.
Ian Holloway Said After The Game >> "I have been let down by my team's performance even though it was slightly improved in the second half." "It is true we have missed a few of our injured players, particularly at the front, but we gave them too much space and once again I am here in Cardiff unhappy with the result."
QPR Blog Comment :: QPR remained in 11th spot, which was good. Has been quite a season alltold.
Jamie Cureton, Chris Day, Richard Edghill, Gino Padula, Tony Thorpe - all QPR players out of contract soon. Will they be released by QPR manager Holloway?
Danny Shittu To Leave QPR? >> Sky Sports - Shittu open to Prem offers >> Danny Shittu has said to Sky Sports that he would pretty much jump at the chance to leave QPR to play in the premiership next year.
Southampton and Manchester City are reportedly interested in gaining the big centre back's signature. So I guess Shittu is off.
Danny Shittu Said >> I've been hearing a lot of positive things, I'm not sure how much is true but it's flattering to hear teams are looking at you," he told skysports.com. "I'm happy at QPR and the club have done a lot for me. I've managed to make a name for myself and enjoy it there, but I don't know any player who doesn't want to play in The Premiership. "It would be nice to play in The Premiership with QPR, but if the opportunity comes to move there this summer I would definitely consider it, 100 percent. "My aim from day one has been to play in The Premiership. I started with Charlton, and have played in Division One and Two and now The Championship, but I have always wanted to get back to The Premiership. "I can't really talk about specific clubs yet, but I will look at what offers do come in and decide from there."
QPR Official View On Shittu Leaving >> QPR Chairman and The CEO Both Deny Shittu Will Leave QPR In The Summer QPR Blog Comment :: ♠ Firstly, thanks for the good times Danny Shittu. ♠ Secondly, I think you will get caught out in the premiership for positional sense and I am happy to see QPR recoup a large fee for your services, before QPR get into the premiership and your positional weaknesses are exposed. ♠ Thirdly, thanks again for the good times. You will always be QPR Legend to me. Good luck Danny Shittu.
QPR Official - Gnohere Agrees To Leave >> Arthur Gnohere has settled his differences with QPR by mutual consent, with the aid of the PFA and has dropped his appeal regarding the termination of his contract due to an apparent series of breaches of club discipline.
Arthur Gnohere may have left acrimoniously alltold, but I will not forget some decent performances in a QPR shirt.
Rotherham striker Martin Miller (30) used to play for Reading. Butler has been injured for most of the season (sea sickness?) but still squeezed out 6 goals for relegation fodder Rothreham.
QPR Official - Furlong Signs >> Paul Furlong (36) has signed a new 2 year deal to stay at QPR. Furlong 36 has been a revelation for QPR. Speculation was abound on the QPR forums that Furlong may go elsewhere if an offer came in from another club with higher wages than Rangers could afford.
Glad to see Furlong has decided to sign up again. Furlong has scored 48 goals in 103 starts for QPR. Top man!
