This is the time of year when the European golf starts to get more

Thursday start of this week's event in China, making an outright selection
here would be academic, but I couldn't help noticing that we were biggest
price on Trevor Immelman at 33/1 Odds. The normally under-achieving South
African will have had his confidence boosted by a fine fifth place in the
Masters, and this could be year that he moves up to the next level.

This year's race 'Whitbread' is not a great one for the money and, with
most of the intended runners entered merely as an after-thought after a
long old season, the best advice is to go for the relatively fresh Kelami.

The William Hill Trophy winner was taken out of the National to wait for
this and looks well in off just 10st 1lb. By the time of the race, the
ground is expected to dry out to good, which will be sufficient for Kelami
to reproduce his Cheltenham form. Both Martin Pipe and Paul Nicholls have
made multiple entries in the race as they slug it out for the trainer's
title.

However, the championship could well have been decided by the time
they go to post for the big race, with the former's Well Chief a big fancy
to come out on top of his old rival Azertyuiop in the Celebration Chase
(2.35).

Those two might not get things all their own way, however, with the
Mark Rimell-trained Oneway expected to put his disappointing run at
Cheltenham behind him. Both races are part of the Channel 4 racing
coverage, so if you can find the winner at 4/1 or more, we'll give a free

Finally, backers should get a lift from the

American Roy Hallums was abducted from his temporary Baghdad home on November 1st, 2004.

♠ He was in Iraq as a civilian contractor working on rebuilding efforts. His mission had everything to do with helping the Iraqi people rebuild their country after decades of war, mismanagement, and terror under the Saddam Hussein regime.

♠ Roy was taken hostage along with six other foreign nationals, including a Fillipino named Robert Tarongoy. The U.S. did not publish the fact that an American citizen had been taken hostage because of a policy of treating civilian abductions as purely private matters. The Jawa Report was the first publication to identify Roy Hallums as the hostage.

♠ Since that time we have been in contact with members of the Hallums family who started leaving comments at our site. Roy's daughter, Carrie Hallums Cooper, and his ex-wife, Susan Hallums, have been leading the charge to keep Roy's plight in the media.

♠ Unfortunately the mainstream media has tended to bury stories of American hostages in the back pages until something dramatic happens, such as the release of a hostage video. The sad fact is that the American hostages in Iraq are forgotten casualties of war. We find this situation unacceptable and pledge to do our part in keeping these victims in the headlines."

HANOI: Twenty-six people in football-mad Vietnam have been arrested for gambling illegally on European Champions League matches, police said yesterday.
The men, aged between 27 and 42, were arrested in a raid on a hotel in the southern metropolis of Ho Chi Minh City on April 9, a police official said.
We will be continuing our investigation as the network took bets from punters in other provinces via telephone on other European football matches, he said.
The network was believed to have great influence on football betting circle in Ho Chi Minh City, with bets sometimes reaching billions of dong (hundreds of thousands of dollars).

An unnamed punter picked up a cool £200,000 profit on "Grand National Winner Hedgehunter". Hedgehunter cruised home by 14 lengths without ever coming under the whip after powering away at the elbow after the last of the 4m+ Aintree national course.

The unnamed punter took 20/1 on the Willie Mullins Irish trained Hedgehunter earlier in the year for £8000 EW (Each Way) and must have been wondering how lucky he/she was after watching the calamity that befell Clanroyal and the champion jockey Tony McCoy. Not because Clanroyal would have won, but because Hedgehunter could just as easily been brought etc down somewhere over the National 4 miles plus. I am of the opinion Clanroyal never settled, pulled too hard and would have just set up Hedgehunter with a lead. Clanroyal's saddle had slipped too. One never knows with McCoy on board though.

Ante post betting is a perilous pursuit, but the lucky punter is 200k richer for picking the winner of the greatest horse race in the world, long before the entrants were even in.

The Grand National clears about 30% of all horseracing betting intake in the UK in 1 go I gather. A Grand National favourite coming in does not help the bookies satchels stay full, let alone punters landing lumpy bets at 20-1 ante post odds.

Gambling Link Drop

I get about 20 emails a day about link swapping from gambling sites. Most are from generic link manager thngies that just serve to annoy.

Some firms threaten to remove a link from their site to gamblog, when I never even knew there was a link from there in the first place.

I dunno.

Uk-casino-online.co.uk rate and review online casinos. What I am supposed to do is put a link to their site and then ME contact THEM to tell them where thier link is on gamblog. Atleast the letter/email was polite, original and they linked to here first.

Texas-hold-em-poker online.info is a basic poker portal from a bloke called Peter Broderick who asked for a link politely enough, linked to gamblog first, but is clearly not interested in much chit chat, therefore not really a serious linker.

Slot-game.net have a decent Free Slot Machine Download Page which is actually quite good. A nice collection of freeware fruit machines or slots to be had there although I don't rate the casino Golden Palace very much atall ~ play there at your own risk. Inquired about a link swap without mentioning removal of my links, but did not link to gamblog first. Still a reasonable approach and I found some decent content on the site which can't be bad. Let's see if the firm notice this link post, the same goes for those above.
