QPR striker Paul Furlong and centre back Danny Shittu got the goals that gave QPR all 3 points away at highflyers Ipswich at Portman Road this afternoon.
A dominant display. QPR got off quickly and settled in. By right Furlong should have scored from Gallens through ball on 3 minutes, but fell over and handled in the process. Ipswich failed to heed the early warning and fluffed the free kick by giving it straight back to Furlong, he said thanks and scored. No falling down this time.
After that, QPR played well, Ipswich never. The Ipswich defence looked second division standard, not premier league. The Ipswich midfield played ok but the defence never got it together and left the midfielders almost isolated. Gallen, Rowlands and Lee Cook can handle 1 on 1 attention. Pressure is what bothers them, Ipswich did not press the ball or the individual. Nice for us.
Ipswich paid the full price when they left Danny Shittu unmarked in the area to power home Rowlands free kick from the resultant foul on Lee Cook. Ipswich huffed and puffed thereafter, but Rangers cruised home, in style, but humbly so as it is the Ipswich who are likely to go up, not us.
QPR 1 Wolves 1 was indeed a disappointing result after being in the lead for so long after Kevin Gallen's 11th minute strike across the Wolves Goalie. The QPR Official Site Wolves Match Report explains how QPR could have been 2 or 3 up come half time, but 1 was all Ranger had to show for all our 1st half domination.
Everyone else seems to think that we didn't do well, but I don't at all.
Our fans who were booing should shut the hell up.
"Look at Wolves big stars, I wish I could bring on £7 million signings off of my bench.
I would have booed us off against Preston, but not tonight, those lads didn't deserve that. They know where I live, come and see me.
Who the hell do we think we are? Go and boo yourselves."
QPR Blog Comment :: We Are QPR and I like Holloway for this kind of talk. Booing does shit all for the team, especially when undeserved. The boys tried their level best and that is really all there is to it. If someone ain't putting it all in, Holloway will know and will strike that player down. Know that and remember it Rangers fans.
The reserves won a game in the last minute, after going 1 behind in the 75th.
Adam Miller nicked one back and Luke Townsend stole in to get the winner by the seaside for the reserves in the 91st minute.
Reminds me slightly of the first team performance against Preston last saturday. Atleast this time we won and were not on the receiving end of 2 late goals in short succession.
Maybe I am going insane but our Holloway said we are short of players. I have watched Johnson leave for nothing before Xmas. Mcleod has gone, our quickest attacker by the way and now Bean has gone until the end of the season.
I don't recall these players being replaced. Quite baffling really. If we get an injury to Cook I know not who will play at left midfield.
Is just aswell Holloway knows what he is doing. It is hard to keep up sometimes.
Anyway, good luck to ex Everton youth player Kevin Mcleod and Come on you R's!
QPR got beat 2-1 at home by Preston, the same fiirm that broke our winning streak earlier in the season.
Well I was laid up in bed unwell on saturday and woke up with the sound of the radio in my ears telling me the score at Loftus Road was QPR 1 Preston 0.
I fell straight back to sleep after glancing at the clock. It was half past 4, 15 minutes of the game to go.
I woke up a few hours later, staggered over to the computer and loaded up the QPR Official Website to check the result, hoping Ranger had held on against the in form Preston..
Andrew Davies will most probably be recalled by Boro manager McClaren after Colin Cooper got injured yesterday. Andrew Davies has played well for QPR , very well actually.
Fans FC - QPR loan star set for Riverside return "Middlesbrough lost veteran centre-back Colin Cooper to injury against Portsmouth last night and with Chris Rigott and Ugo Ehiogu already on the injured list, Davies could be in line for a start at the weekend against Blackburn."
QPR Blog Comment :: The boy broke his leg not so long back, he has returned to full fitness. Good luck to the one Andrew Davies if he has played his last game for QPR.
QPR played well, Millwall played not so well. Even still, we could not grab the points against Dennis Wise and Ray Wilkin's team.
Paul Furlong could have got 3 today, the best chance coming 10 minutes from time. Lee Cook could have had a penalty late on too. The ref might not have got out of the Den if he gave us the pen heheh.
George Santos played another stormer in central midfield while Andrew Davies took Santos's normal starting position in central defence next to Danny Shittu

Luton went top of the combination league this afternoon with a 2-0 win over Rangersā?? reserves at Loftus Road.
Rangers lined up with Chris Day in goal. Lewis Hamilton, fresh from his successful loan spell at Kingstonian started at right back, Matthew Rose and youth team regular Ryan Johnson were the centre backs with Aaron Brown once again fielded at left back.
The midfield was made up of Scott Mulholland on the right, Adam Miller and the returning Marc Bircham in the centre and Sonny Farr on the left wing. Upfront saw Luke Townsend partner Tony Thorpe, who was facing his old side.
Official Site - QPR Reserves Beaten Marc Bircham, Matthew Rose and Tony Thorpe played for the reserves today. We still got beat 2-0 by Luton Town reserves.
Russel Perret Enoch Showumni got the goals for the away team.
