Remember Ben Haim? He's the idiot that jumped to the floor when Wayne Rooney tickled his chin on boxing day 2004?
Strikes me as a bit ridiculous really as the boy Haim was clearly not struck about his face by Rooney anywhere near hard enough to warrant Ben Haim's rolling about on the deck. Would Ben Haim roll about like that outside a nightclub or down the highstreet in front of his family?
Clear simulation, seen live by the world and recorded for posterity, yet cleared or "unproven".
Carte blanche for players to keep on diving and rolling around trying to con the referee, now endorsed by the powers that be.
Ok. 0 - 0 it started, 0 - 0 it ended. More commonly known as a Bore Draw
England started against Holland with a 4-3-3 formation. Robinson in goal, Cole, Carragher, Brown and Gary Neville made up the England defence. Lampard, Gerrard and Beckham in midfield, Owen up front with Rooney and Wright-Phillips both squirting in and out from the wings.
Poetry in motion England were not. Solid enough we were, seeing that we had our 94th choice centre backs in with a curious formation to boot. ("the boot it will get I am fairly sure")
Anyway, Holland had a bunch of youngsters out, or in, depending on your vocabulary. Enough about Holland.
Stewart Downing came on for Wright Phillips in the 60th minute and played well enough. I am a firm believer starting with Downing in a 442 would have been alot more interesting to watch. I would have hoped with Downing starting in a 442, a more familiar formation for our players, England would have beaten Holland's very talented, yet very young side on home soil at Villa Park.
Better luck next time when it counts against the Irish.
England are 5/1 for a 1-0 win, 8/1 a 2-0 win, 2-1 is 15/2.
Michael Owen and Wayne Rooney are joint 9/2 betting favourites to score the first goal of the match. Beckham's odds are 9/1 and Gerrard is 12's.
Holland are an online best priced odds of 9/4 with Bet 365, so if you want to try to take advantage of England's weak back 4 against the giants of Holland, then you should fill your boots at Bet 365

The media talk is Wright Phillips will play down the left. I can't see that with Stewart Downing getting his first call up.
Sven loves 442 and will want to start Downing, albeit in a high profile friendly, rather than have to start with him in a high profile World Cup qualifier right?
England starting with Wright Phillips out of position, is arguably a nonsense when you have a possible shit hot young left winger you want to blood on the level.
Downing will start and gain his first cap. I hope.
Stewart Downing looks like a very nice left midfielder, just what England and Sven have been looking for. If Downing does'nt start against Holland I will be surprised.
England Are Short On Defenders For The Holland Friendly
The 2 central defenders and their cover are all injured.
Defenders Out :: Sol Campbell is out, Rio Ferdinand is out, John Terry is out, Ledley King is out and left back cover Wayne Bridge is out.
Wes Browne has been drafted in and so has Phil Neville to face Holland. I guess Wes Browne will play alongside Carragher in central defence, Gary Neville right back and Cole left.
"England's senior goalkeeping coach Ray Clemence has been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
The ex-Liverpool and Tottenham keeper will miss England's training sessions next week before their friendly against Holland while he undergoes treatment.
Clemence, 56, said: 'The news I have had from the doctors so far has been very positive and encouraging.
'I'm looking forward to getting the treatment out of the way and returning to work as soon as possible.'"
England Blog Comment :: Ray Clemence played 61 times times for England and was a quality keeper. Rather unlucky Peter Shilto was around otherwise Clemence would have got a lot more caps.

Beckham Tells Sven He Is Up For The World Cup 2006 Challenge
Apparently the England manager Sven Goran Eriksson was going to fly out to Spain to have som words with David Beckham over his apparent lack of form according the Sun.
Sven and Beckham had a chat on the phone instead, after Beckham's improved form for Real Madrid lately.
Beckham will get his 78th cap for England against the Dutch on wednesday.
England blog comment :: Beckham's improvement in form is due to Real Madrid manager Wanderley Luxemborgo or whatever his ame is playing Becks out wide on the right, thereby moving Figo in behind the strikers. I gather Figo is pissed off about the situation. I am glad, because England need Beckham fit and flying for the World Cup, not out of form.
Andy Johnson has been scoring freely for Crystal Palace, even though his team are in the lower reaches of the premier league. Stuart Downing is flying high with Middlesbrough and will maybe get a star on the left of midfield.
Rio Ferdinand is out after getting injured today for Man Utd. Ledley King and John Terry look like they will partner up in central defence
