Pele Edson Arantes do Nascimento thinks England can get to the
world cup final in 2006 - but of course, still rates Brazil to win. I would worry if Pele did'nt. Pele is worried however, by the amount of players the Brazil coaxh has to pick from and wonders whether the yellows coach will get his team selection right.
Pele Tips England for FinalEngland could be in the final, no doubt. I saw every game in the last two years and I think England have improved a lot.
I think England, Italy and Brazil over the last two years have been the best teams, but of course we are still seven months before the World Cup.
But if no-one gets injured and everyone has a chance to be there and in shape, I think England could be in the final.
Pele Still Hot On Brazil's Chances"England could beat Brazil but the World Cup is very tough. The quarter and semi-finals are just one game and the World Cup is a box of surprises. Anything can happen.
I don't feel comfortable with being the favourite - they don't win.
I think Brazil are the best team because they have two players in each position, but the coach has too many good players in the same position and he doesn't know which players to use."
England Blog Comment = Brazil last won the World Cup in Europe against Sweden in 1958 in Sweden (final score - Brazil 5-2 Sweden). Brazil are currently 3/1 favourites to lift the Jules Rimet trophy. England are joint second favourites with Germany at 6/1, so Pele is not exactly sticking his neck out with his prediction. However, it does underline England's chances somewhat.
