Greyhound Punters Scam Irish Bookie MD

Irish Bookie MD Were Hit Up By Greyhound Scammers to the tune of 7000 euros on december the 5th.

The modus operandi for the small scale dog betting scam was an age old one, stamped out by English bookies via the totalizator automated betting slip systems in place.

Scribbled bet instructions were written on the betting slip, to confuse the betting shop staff into believing the 2 English male punters had picked the winning irish greyhounds

The fraudulent bets were worth 4,470 euros in one MD bookie, followed shortly after by another bogus bet that couped the scammers another €2,500.

A third attempt at the same scam by the dog gamblers/tricksters was thwarted.

MD Betting?s Darragh Fitzpatrick, who is also Chairman of the Irish Bookmakers Association, said the culprits were caught on camera in the shop and he has forwarded the footage onto the gardai.

Gamblog Comment - this is an old greyhound betting scam that should not be fooling any bookmakers. Sooner rather than later, automatic odds totalizator betting slip machines will be introduced into all Irish betting shops I guess.
