The
England Team base camp has been confirmed to be a hotel close to the German spa town Baden-Baden called
the Schlosshotel BühlerhöheHopefully the England international players will like the hotel and surroundings in Germany. As an England fan, I want no excuses from the players about the facilities. Can you say Roy Keane?
Sven's Opinion Of The England Team Base Camp
I'm delighted with the hotel. I know that there has been a huge amount of work going on throughout the year to find the right place for the team. I understand around 30 hotels across Germany have been checked out in advance to ensure we have the best available.
It's so important that we have the right base camp, as this will be the players home and set the atmosphere as we prepare for all of our games.
When I went out to visit the hotel personally a few months ago, I was immediately struck by the magnificence of the hotel and the fantastic views of the Black Forest.
We've already identified a training ground five minutes from the hotel which we will use every day and our we are within a good travelling distance to the venues we have been drawn to play in during the group phase.
Additionally, we have the beautiful spa town of Baden Baden only a few miles away which has a marvellous atmosphere with some wonderful restaurants and cafes.
I'm already very excited about the World Cup next summer and now the draw has been made and we've chosen our hotel. I can't wait for the tournament to begin and hopefully this hotel will be the launch pad for us to achieve success in Germany."

Words cannot describe my disappointment at the team's performance today. I am in the U.S. military, and have been a long time fan of English football, and England itself. C 3 Para was our sister unit back in the day, and I have often worked with your lads, most recently in Afghanistan. To make a long story short, life in the military being what it is I have recently found myself divorced for the second time, stationed in Alaska, and about to deploy to Iraq again. The divorce has been difficult in a number of ways, as they often are. I wagered the last $2000.00 to my name on a parlay to win $12,500 to pay my lawyer, my ex, and to see my kids one more time before heading to Iraq. The other teams did their part, but England's abysmal effort in the second half quashed my hopes; the brief exhilaration I felt in the 84th minute paled in comparison with the despair which replaced it in the 90th. I had hoped to vent my frustration on a team or official site, to accomplish what I quite honestly don't know now that I've begun - to let them know that despite how unimportant today's outcome seemed to them how it affected many others, I'm sure; how disappointing the sloppiness of play was; how perhaps persons who are as blessed as they are shouldn't take the wonderful opportunity they have before them for granted, as they seemed to today. Perhaps it's best that i did not find such a site, for this is not nearly as articulate as one would wish, nor does it contain any narrative elegance. I suppose I just wanted to share my frustration. I shall continue to cheer for the English team and wish them well, and certainly hope they can tighten up their game as they proceed to the elimination round. But you can bet that I wouldn't wager on them again, even if able until they show the heart necessary to win the Cup. I hope they do.
