USAtoday.com >> Ryanair says all may fly free if gambling pays off > No Air Fares If Onflight Gambling Is Profitable?
Ryanair ceo Michael O'leary reckons that air fares could be free in 2 years for all flights, if onboard gambling is profitable enough.
This is what Mr O'leary had to say about onboard or in-flight gambling opportunities.
Onboard Gambling = No Air Fares? >>
Micheal O'leary said "Ryanair gave away about a quarter of its seats last year and that figure could rise to between 50 and 100% depending on how ancillary revenues grow."
"Ultimately entertainment will be where the money is," he told reporters, while answering questions about his plans to introduce gaming and gambling onboard, probably in 2007.
"It would transform ancillary revenues and profits,"
"We'll probably announce a gambling partner (company) in the next 2-3 months".
Gamblog comment >> What tosh. When onboard gambling becomes profitable, there is no way the air firms will allow people to
fly for free on the back of those profits. The gambling profits will stay just that - profit.
More interesting is who will power the onboard gambling outlets. Could it be
Microgaming or possibly
Cryptologic? -
Cassava maybe?
