FIFA rate England as joint 9th best international football team in the World. That is a rise of 2 spots I believe.England Blog Comment >> England are 9th, the USA are 7th. Funnily enough, the Czech's are 3rd best in the world in the Fifa rankings, but still have not qualified for the 2006 World Cup finals.

How did USA get to be 7th?
Actually I thought that we'd been seeded 8th before?

Not sure how Fifa work those numbers atall.
You are probably right about England being rated 8th. Losing to Northern Ireland must knock the ratings for England down somehow, whle N.Ireland's would go up.
