David Beckham is carrying a slight back injury, which needs an injection for him to be able to play in matches. After the matches though, Beckham has to lay up and rest.
It is a worrisome developement for England fans. If the injury does'nt clear up at some stage, Beckham will go into the World Cup injured and probably very tired after carrying an injury all season while playing for Real Madrid.
Real Madrid are in the champions league, so it's not like Beckham will get much chance to rest the back I feel.
Beckham On Injury Worry >>
I've got problems with my back and the pain I feel means I have to have an injection before and after games so that I can play without pain," Beckham said.
"After games I have to keep my back still without hardly moving so that the pain doesn't get worse.
"I know that I run, hit the ball and cross differently than other players but I don't think that is the cause of the problem.
"I have a small area of pain and if I have an injection before games it is so I feel better and I am able to play. I hope it's over with soon."

I heard today on Talksport that he's now getting paid £770,000 per week at Real, is that true?
If it is, WTF?
I know he's been their best player this season, but £770,000? The mind boggles.
He must be selling lots of shirts to be worth getting paid that much.
Andy Townsend and Mike Parry brought up the very salient point that now it will be even harder for Sven to leave him out of the England side with that kind of sum on his head.
I wonder how much Raul and Ronaldo get? I predict there may be trouble ahead if that sum is true.
Rumour denied Karen. No contract talks - yet.
Apparently Beckham is after half his image rights, which adds up to about 25 million a year.
He will get it too, because it will cost Real 25 million to say no to Beckham.
25 million pays Ronaldo's and Zidanes wages.
