Aussie Betting shops were left reeling after the Sydney Swans landed one of the biggest Grand Final gambles since Aussie football betting started.

The Sydney Swans drifted to as much as $2.10 at some outlets before spearhead Barry Hall was cleared to play, then rank-and-file punters launched into a four-day betting spree.

♠ By game time, the Swans had been gambled down to as short as $1.60, with the Eagles drifting from $1.70 to the $2.20 offered by the NSW TAB's Sportsbet

♠ 'It was an absolutely mammoth gamble, especially for a Grand Final when you consider the volume of money involved,' NSW TAB's Glen Munsie said.

♠ 'Obviously we bore the brunt of it here being based in Sydney."
