England suffered their worst defeat for 25 years losing 4-1 to Denmark away. After a decent first half, Sven made some changes. They never worked.
Well, maybe they did because David James made another error to let the Danes in for goal number 1. After that England collapsed pretty much. Just aswell it was only a friendly.
In fact, while David James is a highly talented goalkeeper, it is his decision making that is erratic and let's him down. This time around James claims he was'nt prepared to play the game properly.
I think "Calamity James" may well have just talked himself out of any other England call-ups. James is the goalie that let Zidane stick one past him when it mattered most and tried to blame the coaching staff for not providing the big goalie with a video of the player. For James to claim to not know who Zidane is and to now claim he was'nt prepared for an international fixture when called upon, is indeed calamatous.
Rooney played well and that is about it. Gladly it was only a friendly. That said, Sven Goran Eriksson was scathing in his criticism of the England team's second half performance and actually seemed genuinely annoyed by the "holiday" spirit shown by certain England players.
Not so for the Danes ~ It was Denmark's first home win over England since the two sides first met in 1948 and only their third victory in 17 meetings.

I was listening to Talksport today, and Sven's been getting all kind of abuse from the fans. My question is, what the hell would we do if he did decide to leave? Who would replace him? Sam Allardyce? Surely that would unbalance the team even further?
People are constantly slagging him off. but lets face it, he's the best manager we've had in ages. Besides, the FA can't sack him, he cost too bloody much! I'll still never understand why the FA offered him so much money.
The problem is, although the players we have are par excellence, they don't have the mental capacity to win.
The same thing that plagues our national football team is the same thing that plagues the likes of our cricket team, Tim Henman, Andy Murray, Jensen Button, Colin Montgomery, yada yada yada.
I could go on forever. I truly believe that this current team could have the best manager out there, and we still wouldn't win anything. We don't have the belief like the Germans and Brazilians do.
Having said that, it would be interesting to see what impact a manager like Mourinho would have on the team. It is my secret dream actually.
Hello Karen.
Yes, I was listening to Adrian Durham banging on about getting rid of Sven and putting in Bobby Robson short term.
Bobby Robson is guaranteed to win the World Cup next year don't you know? It's always the same on talksport. Too excited when we win, too sad and silly when we lose.
Come on England!
Mike Parry and Andy Townsend were talking about the possibility of getting Terry Venables to care take for a while until we find a better manager, WTF?
People seem tro have forgotten that we gave him as much stick when he was England manager as we have every other manager of our national team. Talk about rose-tinted glasses. The only reason we got to the quarters in Euro 96 was because it was being held in this country, otherwise we'd have drifted into Crapdom a lot sooner.
Mind you, looking at today's Sun, it would be a good idea if Sven tried to keep out of the headlines. What a f*cktard.
Can't argue with any of that.
I have never known an England manager to not get stick.
It goes with the territory. Even if we win the world cup, England fans would expect to retain it forever or the manager is useless.
It happened in the rugby, so it is not just football. Not that that helps much.
