Football Asia - Kazemian catches the eye in QPR friendly >>
Holloway Wants More Noise From The QPR FansIan Holloway wants the same amount of noise and energy from the QPR fans as the Iranian fans showed while cheering on Javad Kazemian and the rest of the under-strengthed Iranian team in the 3-0 defeat at Loftus road.
"Holloway remarked that it took him a quarter-of-an-hour to get used to the noisy Team Melli supporters as British Iranians turned out in force for the first of Iran's three matches in England, more than making up for a disappointing home attendance.
'They made me feel nervous. It took me 10 or 15 minutes to calm down because the noise they made, made me feel like Iran were going to score, Holloway said of the atmosphere at Loftus Road which was not that of a local derby bear pit or a frantic and urgent cup tie. It was simply joyous.
'I want my fans to try and make the noise the Iranian fans were making,' continued the 42-year-old, who played 561 league games during a 19-year career that took him to Bristol Rovers, Wimbledon, Torquay, Brentford and Queens Park Rangers.
Iranian fans - bedecked in their national colours - sang, blew horns and beat drums non-stop in an expression of their sheer delighted at seeing their national team play live"

Not long to go now...
A new and improved Sunderland AFC Blog now up and running at http://sunderlandafc.blogspot.com, I am looking forward to the new season starting and returning here to post comments on our matches.
Yip, but you left us behind, so you'll be commenting on the premier. Maybe 1 day Sunderland and QPR will meet again.. Hopefully the Ranger will do a little better next time.
but maybe if sunderland stay up in the premiership and qpr go up we will see a showdown as 2 old rivals meet and i will look forward to being there.
