Forest sign QPR left-back Padula >>
Gino Padula has signed for
Nottingham Forest on a free transfer. The Argentinian born ex Wigan left back has been at QPR since 2002.
Gino Padula was out of contract at the end of the season, but did not leave with Chris Day, Tony Thorpe and Jamie Cureton, so I thought Gino had signed a new contract with QPR, obviously not.
Gino Padula never played very well atall last season and lost his left back spot to Matthew Rose. About 5 games to go Gino seemed to find his feet in the 1st Division (championship) ~ but has obvously not convinced manager Ian Holloway to fight to keep Gino at the club.
QPR now need a decent free kick taker, as Padula used to hit a few nice few dead balls every now and then.
All in all, I am sad to see Gino Padula leave QPR.
Thanks for the good times Gino. Good luck in helping getting Forest back up the leagues.
