Blues Legend Celebrates 80th Birthday
The 80th birthday of legendary blues performer BB King is being honored with a special tribute concert sponsored by Isle of Capri Casinos, based in King's home state of Mississippi.
The event will be hosted by television talk show host Montel Williams, and will feature a wide variety of musical entertainment, spanning several genres. The concert will feature such entertainers as Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Deborah Coleman, Bobby Blue Bland, Jody Williams, Smokin' Joe Kubeck, Dr. John and Dickey Betts. BB King will perform the concert finale, playing an assortment of his greatest hits.
King is also celebrating this milestone year with other significant events, including a European tour this summer, the release of his duets album with Universal Music later this year, and the publishing of a book in September titled "B.B. King's Treasures" with Bullfinch Press.
