Ladbrokes Royal Ascot Day 2 Racing Overview >>
Day 2 today of Royal Ascot at York should match the opening day for quality. Breeders Cup winner Ouija Board takes on Azamour in the Prince Of Wales Stakes while Soviet Song makes her seasonal reappearance in the Windsor Forest Stakes.
14:30 Royal Ascot at York Jersey Stakes (Group 3)
Distance: 7f
JERSEY STAKES RACE OVERVIEW >>
Proclamation showed his true ability when dropped back to a mile last time and can follow up in this Group three event, Home Affairs, Oude and Wise Dennis should also be involved in the finish.
Jeremy Noseda's charge failed to settle in the Dante and didn't last home. But at Goodwood last time he sprinted away from a decent field to justify his tall reputation. This drop in trip today will not be a problem and he looks the one to be on.
Home Affairs also came to the racecourse last season amid plenty of hype but was beaten into fourth. He left that form well behind next time with a smooth victory at Yarmouth. He only landed a Haydock handicap on his seasonal bow, but does have plenty of scope and can go well on his first venture into group company.
Wise Dennis also landed a handicap last time, beating some decent types off a mark of 99. He should be fighting for some place money today, along with Oude who ended last season with a gallant third in the Group two Champagne Stakes at Doncaster.
The Irish raider Luas Line also merits plenty of respect, but Proclamation's victory was so eyecatching he cannot be opposed today.

Distance: 1m
FOREST STAKES RACE OVERVIEW >>
This Group two event for fillies has attracted a top class line up with Sundrop and Peeress the pick of the four-year-olds, however we will select the older Soviet Song to land the spoils from the enigmatic Airwave.
There are rumours that everything is not right with James Fanshawe's charge, but if she is hundred per cent she will be hard to beat here. Her victories last season included a gutsy defeat of Attraction at Leopardstown, and a superb performance in the Sussex Stakes to beat Nayyir. So long as the bad vibes from the stable are not substantiated she looks the one to beat.
Former top sprinter Airwave has enjoyed the step up in trip and with her confidence restored she will be a tough opponent this afternoon.
Peeress and Sundrop met at Epsom in the Princess Elizabeth Stakes with the Godolphin runner coming out on top. The margin between them was a comfortable two lengths and there seems no reason why the Stoute horse should reverse the running.
Tarfah and Kinnaird add even more spice to a cracking contest but if all is well with Soviet Song she should collect first prize.

PRINCE OF WALES RACE OVERVIEW >>
This terrific Group one contest sees the eagerly awaited return of dual Oaks winner Ouija Board, who can make a winning start to her four-year-old career, Azamour and Warrsan should prove to be the main dangers.
Ed Dunlop has been delighted with the selection's work on the gallops and comes to York full of confidence. Her credentials are there for everyone to see having comfortably beaten her rivals at Epsom and The Curragh before a third in the Arc was followed by a victory in the Breeders Cup. The four pound fillies allowance also adds to her chances and she is a confident choice.
Azamour was unlucky when finishing fourth in the Tattersalls Gold Cup and is better judged on his victories in the Irish Champion and St James' Palace Stakes. With the ground in his favour this afternoon he will be a tough nut to crack.
Warrsan has failed to run up to his best form this season but should be treated with respect. The seven-year-old is a gutsy performer and if back to his best he will be in there fighting at the death.
Aiden O'Brien's Ace and Australian raider Elvstroem could do best of the remainder, but we expect Ouija Board to enhance her already tall reputation.

ROYAL HUNT RACE OVERVIEW >>
The latest reports from the gallops suggest Eden Rock has progressed well over recent weeks and is taken to land this competitive affair from Pearl Of Love and Ballast. Sir Michael Stoute's colt returned from a long holiday to beat Ridge Boy in a modest looking event at Goodwood last time. He was very highly thought of as a two-year-old and having reportedly improved immensely since that victory he could have got in very lightly here and looks the obvious choice.
Ballast is another potential improver having landed a competitive Thirsk handicap last time. The form of that event has worked out quite well and as he is a relatively lightly raced Cumani runner there should be plenty more in the locker.
Pearl Of Love is an outsider with strong claims. At one stage he was rated 114 and following a recent fourth behind Take A Bow he could be spot on for this and should go close off his current mark.
Vortex and King's Point are two others worthy of respect, but Eden Rock has the potential to be group class and looks the pick off today's low weight.

QUENN MAARY STAKES RACE OVERVIEW >>
Flashy Wings confirmed her trainers high opinion of her when scooting up last time and she can land the hat-trick today at the expense of Briland and Gilt Linked. Mick Channon's filly started her career at Newmarket amid plenty of hype and just scraped home from Oceans Apart. She stepped up on that performance to slaughter two decent opponents in a Listed contest next time and should be capable of making it three out of three this afternoon.
Irish raider Briland is superbly bred and although running green last time, managed to beat a decent looking field at Navan. She looks certain to improve with racing and can get into the money here.
Gilt Linked ran an eye-catching race on her debut at Sandown. She was clueless, losing several lengths at the start and running very green indeed. She went right and left, but stayed on well and finished clear of the rest in fourth. She looks almost certainly capable of a good deal better.
Bow Bridge and Clare Hills have done nothing wrong and can also be given a squeak, but Flashy wings looks a bit special and can keep her unbeaten record.

SANDRINGHAM HANDICAP RACE OVERVIEW >>
Recent winner Hachita has plenty of scope for improvement and is taken to score here from Quickfire and Beautyandthebeast. A Henry Cecil winner here would be very popular and Hachita looks to have very strong claims. She made all to fight off the the challenges of Bon Nuit and Love Thirty in a decent conditions race at Leicester last time, and a similar gutsy effort could be good enough to take the honours this afternoon.
Quickfire steps back in trip following her second to the easy winner Secret History in the Musidora Stakes here and has to be respected off her current handicap mark.
Beautyandthebeast was very impressive when beating the 96 rated Kestrel Cross at Naas last time over seven furlongs. She is just as effective over this distance and should be there or thereabouts.
In a very open affair Tahrir can also be given a chance, but Hachita is all heart and will be difficult to pass this afternoon.
