TheFA.com - Late agony for England >> The England ladies went down fighting at Ewood Park today 2-1 against the Denmark girls. I watched the game on BBC and was happy enough until 10 minutes from the end.
A well earned penalty for a foul in the penalty area against left winger Rachel Yankee in the 51st minute led to England's goal, converted by Everton ladies Fara Williams.
Much to my dismay though the Danish girls equalised with 10 to go with a well executed free kick by Pedersen, followed by a heartbreaking Paaske Sorensen winning goal in the 88'th minute put the England girls in a difficult position in the Euro's. The 2-1 defeat left England needing a result against the highly rated Swedish women to progress through to the semi finals..
Not an impossible task and with home advantage back at Ewood Park Blackburn on saturday, but a difficult proposition nonetheless.
Good luck girls, you had none today.
