John Terry V Sol Campbell - Who Should Start Next To Rio?
John Terry has been outstanding for Chelsea this season.
Sol Campbell has not played so well for Arsenal, but has always been outstanding when playing for England.
Callers to
talk SPORT Radio seem to be most agreeable to John Terry partnering Rio Ferdinand in central defence against the Dutch rather than Sol Campbell.
I believe it is possible to play all 3 in a 5-3-2 formation if you want. Would solve the left midfield panic and Rio could move forward a bit more and show us what he can really do.

Not so sure about G.Neville playing at right back pushing on in a 532 formation though..
john terry is not an international defender he is not as classy as sol or rio or even Ledley King he cost us 2 goals at euro 2004 and would much rather punt the ball out then control and play it like rio or sol
Fair enough, I will watch out for that flaw. Had not noticed it myself.
Leave your name if you post as a non blogger user, cheers..
john terry is the best defender in the world at the moment. he has every attribute that a defender needs, un stoppable in the air and tackle. doesn't waste the ball and is comfortable on the ball. sol campbell is not the player he was, the way he is playing he is very clumsy on the ball and likes the big boot. lack of concentration is campbells main flaw, which at international level may cost us. John terry hasn't made a mistake in two seasons for chelsea or england when he has had the chance and must play. not only for his defensive ability but also foir his goal scoring capabilities which the other two dont have in their locker.
You may very well be right. Sven is a loyalty manager though and may stick with Campbell through thick or thin regardless of how well Terry plasys for Chelsea or as cover for Sol when he is out.
