James Beattie Unhappy With Sven Treatment
5 times England striker
James Beattie formerly of Southampton, now at Everton has reportedly been
critical of his treatment by England coach Sven
James Beattie said :: "The thing that has disappointed me the most was the fact there was no explanation for why I was omitted from the Euro 2004 squad," Beattie told reporters.
"It really set me back and disappointed me quite a lot. It would have taken just two minutes to say "you didn't do this, or you can do this to get back in".
"Being out of the squad was bad enough, but that was really bad. I'm sure that if I can get in the Everton team and score some goals, I will be back in Mr Eriksson's thoughts in no time."
Gamblog comment ::
James Beattie has probably not had a fair crack of the whip under Sven Goran Eriksson, but I doubt going public like this is advisable.
If I were an
England Team player and never got picked, I would not need to be told anything. All I would need to see is i'm not in. I reckon the rest is easily guessable.

Cricket selectors tend to advise fringe players on what is necessary and why they were not selected, but I don't think National Team managers do that.
I think he's not selected because Sven believes he's not up to it...
That would be my guess Anti..
I would not want to risk the press "misquoting me", thereby pissing off the boss, over someting that is easily guessable..
