talkSPORT Worst England Player of 2004 ResultDavid beckham 35%
Phil Neville 15%
David James 15%
Kieron Dyer 7%
Emile Heskey 6%
Paul Scholes 5%
John Terry 5%
Gary Neville 3%
Others Combined 9%
35% -
David Beckham was voted the worst England player of 2004 by a staggering 100% clear margin. Very Very harsh in my opinion. The problem is David Beckham is so high profile, is the England captain and seems to get picked by Sven Goran Eriksson whether Beck's is fit or not, in form or not.
15% - Phil Neville always gets lambasted. The player is a right back who fills in out of position and does well at a high level. Every time though he gets punished for the 1 important error.
15% - David James deservedly got some votes. Paul Scholes got a few votes because he honestly never played well. How John Terry got any votes is beyond me.
7% - Kieron Dyer has hardly played for England, but is very unpopular at the moment amongst the footballing public.
All in all David Beckham won the worst England player award. Win may not be the best word, but win the most worst player votes is exactly what he did.
