Casinomeister's Best and Worst of 2004 Online Casino Awards

The Casinomeister's Best and Worst of 2004 Awards are maybe a week late, but hey , hey , hey , the awards are here now.

The Casinomeister Bryan Bailey will dedicate a portion of his next Casino Watchdog Webcast to the Casinomeister's Best and Worst of 2004 Casino Awards. You should listen to the Meister's webcast if you are interested in the online gaming industry, even his detractors do.

Some interesting awards were handed out by the Casinomeister. My thoughts on a few awards.

The Biggest Casino Disappointment Award goes to quote ::

"Every casino operator who uses stupid excuses not to pay players because they "abused" a bonus.

I'm so fed up with this situation, that it overshadows any other fleeting disappointing moment of 2004"
How could I disagree with that sentiment? It has got beyond a joke. I will move on.
The Worst Named Casino Of The Year caught my eye. Bryan Bailey wrote
Worst casino and worst named Casino1x2 and its sister sportsbook site Internet1x2 take this award hands down.

I have no idea what was going through the operator's mind when he named his casinos, or what inspired him to use these names. And how is it pronounced? Is it "casino one X two" or "casino one times two"? Regardless, these are stupid names that lack thought or creativity.
I am not so sure the Casinomeister follows football (soccer) and so therefore would'nt know that 1X2 is related to football betting. 1 for a home, X for a draw and 2 for an away win. Related somewhat to betting, I think 1X2 sportsbook is an acceptable name.
Worst Casino Player Experience of 2004 rightfully goes to the Pirate of Caribbean 21 who almost talked himself out of $1.3 million dollars until the intervention of much respected message board poster Cipher and his legal connections.
The Worst Casino Software Award For 2004 goes to Oyster Gaming or Elka Systems Bryan writes
Have you ever wondered why you get some much spam that concerns fake Rolexes, pirated software, pharmaceuticals, and other irritating crap, you can thank the dweebs behind Oyster Gaming for this.

Their casino domains are tied in with a group of Russian spam gangs - most of it is documented here

At press time they are reportedly under investigation by the FTC , FBI , RCMP , Business Software Alliance , Russian law enforcement , Macromedia , Rolex and several other companies and agencies. Good going Oyster! You have brought this industry down a few notches because of your marketing techniques.
