Spain 1
del Horno 9
England 0
Attendance 48,000.
Spain beat
England 1-0 at the Bernabeau Stadium with a headed goal from the Spanish left back Asier del Horno. Xavi swung in a corner, the England defence hesitated and del Horno scored, that was about it.
England looked out of sorts to be frank. However,
Spain played very well and we spent the game chasing shadows. Zven said "England under-performed" and was happy it was only a friendly, where no points were at stake.
A Memorable Match?
The game was most memorable for Wayne Rooney being substitued in the 41st minute by Sven, because Wayne seemed to be on the verge of being sent off. Maybe he was, maybe he was'nt, who knows?
The game was made most un-memorable by the racist Spanish fans who monkey chanted at the English black skinned players. It seemed to me Wright-Phillips got the worst abuse. The F.A will no doubt protest. I don't think we need to, I think Spain should know they have a problem to deal with, without our input.
Reyes moaned before the match about being targeted by Gary Neville and proceded to look for every opportunity to tempt Neville into a tackle, while actively looking to make it look like Neville was going in too hard.
All in all, England lost and Spain won in a niggly match. Gladly it was only a friendly heheh.

England Captain David Beckham Announces He Will Quit International Football in 2 YearsReports in the papers quote England captain
Becks as saying he will "
Quit Playing International Football" at the end of the upcoming
2006 Soccer World Cup in GermanyNow let's have it right. I try my best not to be too critical of the team and therefore the players I support, but for the life of me I cannot work out the upside for the England side he captains with this "Quit" announcement from Beckham himself. Who says Beckham will be in by then anyway?
After dropping himself in it with admitting he got booked on purpose against Wales, one would have thought Becks would shut his mouth for a hot minute. Additionally I gather Posh want the Beckham's to be the next
Osbourne Family Yes she actually wants a series made all about the Beckham family and their home life. Girl, that is too intrusive.
Update ::
David Beckham denies that he will quit England in 2 seasons. I heard him say on the radio he will play until his legs say stop.
Good lad, my apologies. I really should stop reading the papers.

Ray Clemence, The FA's National Goalkeeping Coach, has today paid a warm tribute to
Emlyn Hughes, a man he played alongside for both club and country and a friend for almost 30 years.
Hughes, who passed away today, signed for Liverpool in 1967, just a few months before Clemence and went on to become captain of the club, play for his country, and be one of the most familiar and well-loved sports personalities in England.
"They used to call him "Crazy Horse" at Liverpool," said Ray. "He just had this boundless energy and enthusiasm. As a player he was incredibly adaptable.
"He came to the club as a midfielder, played left-back for England and ended up as centre-back for Liverpool. "As a captain, he lifted the European Cup in 1977. His enthusiasm drove us on as a team. He expected and demanded the best from his team.
