QPR Watching After Tommy Black? (Unadulterated Rumour and Transfer Speculation)
Crystal Palace manager and ex QPR player Ian Dowie is rumoured to be looking to trim his squad. I think Dowie is after more quality, rather than quantity.
Sometimes when clubs reach the Premier League, they make the mistake of letting decent youngsters fall by the wayside. Dowie refuses to allow that to happen and rightfully so. In so doing Palace may be willing to let the talented Scotsman
Tommy Black leave on a fee Rangers may be able to squeeze.
Black is a skillful attacking midfielder with an eye for goal. Tommy Black wants to play football regularly, not be farmed out on loan to the likes of Sheffield Utd again and again. As Black is now 23 I reckon he's ready to play regularly, or he never will be.
Lee Cook and McCleod are decent left sided midfielders, but as Rangers have found out lately, Rowlands needs proper cover on the right. Actually Rowlands has not been so hot this year, so Black may feel he has a good chance of keeping Rowlands out of the team. Black can also play left midfield and as a drop off type forward.
Tommy Black does'nt always get a start for the Palace reserves because Palace have so many players on the fringes, so much so that Holloway might have a chance of capturing a decent player to add to the Rangers squad.
We shall see..
