Queens Park Rangers midfielder Lee Cook insisted today that
Millwall's Adrian Serioux deserved to be sent off for throwing the ball at his face during last night's 1-1 draw between the two clubs.
Serioux, who is renowned for his extraordinarily long throw-ins, received a straight red card in the 66th minute after launching the ball straight at Cook's head a metre from the touchline.
Cook said: 'He meant to do it. The ball hit me in the eyes, the nose, mouth and cheeks. It took me a while to realise what he had done. At first I thought the linesman was having a go at me for jumping but he saw it and the referee made the right decision."
