Owen strike hands Madrid victory Michael Owen scored his first goal for Real Madrid in a 1-0 home victory over Dynamo Kiev in the Champions League.
Owen toe-poked home Ronaldo's cross in the 35th minute ensuring Real joined Kiev and Bayer Leverkusen on six points from three games.
"It's been a fantastic night. Going away with England probably helped me do that," said Owen.
"Being back with my mates has given me a lot of confidence. I've come back with a fresh spring in my step."
Real Madrid coach Mariano Garcia paid tribute to Owen after the game.
"What I wanted was mobility up front and he responded very well indeed. He's improving all the time and has a great attitude.
