Jermaine Jenas may start in David Beckham's role as a straight replacement. To be honest I have never been able to work out if
Jermaine Jenas should play central midfield or right midfield. I guess then Sven choosing to play Jenas in the centre/right midfield slot makes sense. Well, atleast to me anyway.

Jermaine Jenas became the surprise favourite last night to replace David Beckham on the right side of England's three-man midfield for their tricky World Cup qualifier against Azerbaijan.
While Sven-Goran Eriksson has yet to make a final decision, Jenas now looks like he could get a start ahead of the more experienced Owen Hargreaves in what could prove an uncharacteristic gamble by the England coach.
The Newcastle United midfielder played in the right-midfield position for almost an hour in a practice match during England's training session at the Tofik Bakhramov Stadium in Baku last night. Jenas, 21, was a member of the Euro 2004 squad but was never selected during the tournament.
