[James Whale and Omar Bakri live radio interview] (roughly translated)

James Whale :: Does it say on the Mohammed Omar Bakri website the Muslim peace envoys should be killed?

Omar Bakri :: No, it say's the Muslim delegation of 2 from the MCB should mind their own heads for their own safety.

Omar Bakri :: Not all Christians agree and do fight each other. These 2 Muslims are from different Muslim sects and may well be classed as Apostates, ie like Mr Bigley. In fact. it would much better for you to go there James, as you are considered probably less harmful by the terrorists than these 2 delegates. These 2 Muslim delegates are maybe considered Apostates allied and working with the British Government. Furthermore they are Muslims who will be perceived as criticising true muslim freedom fighters. Of course, that is in the freedom fighters eyes.

James Whale :: Now listen to me, I want you to answer this straight. Do you have an in with the people holding Ken Bigley?

Omar Bakri :: You see, I do not have with them any link but I know very well if I speak out in the public arena, certain golden words, they will release Mr Bigley.

Omar Bakri :: Well, atleast they will consider releasing him seriously, because I know what they want to hear from the family of Mr Bigley, I know what they want to hear from the British Government. they want the golden words. Those golden words would make it after that not allowable to keep Mr Bigley. After that, they would release Mr Bigley.

The 3 Golden Words.
(1) The mujahadin there want condemnation from the British Government of their own occupation of Iraq.

(2) Recognition that the mujahadin are freedom fighters fighting for a just cause. That they are freedom fighters.

(3) That we have no women in custody, but we will check to see if there are any women in custody.

James Whale :: If that was said over and over, backed by the fact tht the war in Iraq is not very popular here, would that be enough to free Ken Bigley?

Omar Bakri :: If the people say the mujahadin are legitimate freedom fighters and have the right to defend themselves. After that we, the people from the Salafi community, I am from the Salafi community, we will stand. After that the British Government could release Abu Q'atadar, kidnapped in Belmarsh prison and ask him to speak out and say, they gave me my freedom, give Bigley his freedom".

James Whale :: Answer me this question. How can people negotiate when these guys, engineers, were over there to help rebuild the country and are abducted? Then these 2 guys are brutally murdered in front of a camera and the film of this is sent all around the world. That is not the actions of sane people is it?

Omar Bakri :: You see that is the actions of terrorists and that is terrorism. But you need to understand. selaphids believe if we don't have weapons to fight the enemy and the enemy is bigger than us, we will use the weapon of terrorism to terrorise the enemy in order to fight back. God says in chapter mohammed verse number 4, "and when the war broke out with your enemy, strike their neck and terrify them until they recognise your cause, then release them". So what they want now is to be recognised as people fighting for their homeland against foreign forces in Iraq and that they have the right to fight back. That's the way they think. I have no way to affect anybody to do that in any way. I have no way to condone or condemn anybody, but I am from the same community.

James Whale :: 1 last word. Are you confident or not Mr Bigley is alive?

Omar Bakri :: I believe according to the internet sources he is still alive. They are waiting for the Labour Party conference in Brighton, in order to embarrass Tony Blair. Also in appreciation of the family who show recognition for the just cause of the freedom fighters in Iraq. That is what i believe from their websites and press releases.

James Whale :: Do you think maybe people like you being in touch with them might actually help Mr Bigley's cause?

Omar Bakri :: I believe the best man to help Mr Bigley is Sheikh Abu Q'atadar, who is Belmarsh Prison. Because he is more scholarly than me and he is head of the Salafi community. I believe this man who has been kidnapped in the U.K. is the best to speak up to the mujahadin, he will be more influential than me. I think this Government is not doing enough for it's British subjects. And those 2 British Muslims who went from here, may god forsake them, but i think if they get close to Abu Muslab, he will kidnap them.

James Whale :: Because he does'nt see them as any better than non muslims?

Omar Bakri :: Indeed, but I am in London, I am speaking objectively, not inciting anybody to action.

James Whale :: And you would like people to know that you did not mean what was put into the papers on your behalf today?

Omar Bakri :: Of course, no way for me to call for anybody to be killed or to be kidnapped, impossible
