Arlesey FC Player Said His 5 Year Old Daughter Had Died Of Cancer - To Get Out Of Training
Arlesey Football Club play thier football in the Southern Football League (division 1 east)
The Scotsman Newspaper reports on the Footballer Spared Jail over Daughter's Death Con (story removed) and have been a bit harsh with the player I think.
What happened?
Non League Footballer Simon Carmichael was trying to find an excuse to miss training and came out with a right dumb one. He said My Daughter Has Died Of Throat Cancer.
♠ Arlesey FC had a whip round and raised £455, held a minutes silence before a boxing day game with the fans and put a memorandum in the match programme.
♠ The ex missus and mother of little Taomi Stacey Nevin, 22, of Fishermead, Milton Keynes, saw the programme and rang the club to say the child was fine.
♠ Judge Burke Sentenced Carmichael to 120 hours community service, a six-month curfew and a costs order of £500.
♠ Carmichael refused to comment as he fled the court surrounded by friends and his new fiancee. He has since left Arlesey Town and moved away from Bedford.
♠ Judge Burke said the move was "a very wise decision".
