UK Scientist Professor Stephen Hawking Loses Bet For A Baseball Encyclopedia Over His Black Hole In Theory
The Sydney Morning Herald talks of betting/gambling in an almost romantic light for once. Rather than snyde remarks that are abound the internet and some parts of the press about gambling in general, so much so that after porn gambling is the next in line for "taboo" status, especially online.

I am more interested in posting a story about gambling that is not enshrouded in negativity. Maybe because the report mentions the word "wager" rather than "betting" or indeed, "gambling" it feels less taboo like ~ who knows? Maybe it is because Prof Stephen Hawking is a scientist and/or he is paralysed that the papers don't like having a go at him, therefore not being negative about a "wager"? Anyway, Stephen payed up the baseball encyclopedia, not before trying to palm American Physicist Professor John Preskill off with a cricket encyclopedia instead.
