Gambling Talk | Meet Harvey From The UK Players Guide
Q :: What is your name or online moniker?
A :: Harv
Q :: What organisation or website do you represent or own?
A :: UK Players Guide.co.uk and also UK List Of Online Casinos.co.uk and a new site which will be coming soon.
Q :: Could you explain what your organisation or website offers the public?
A :: UK Players Guide is my main site. It came about because as a player at casinos, i was so frustrated with the industry. There are so many disreputable casinos out there. Many casinos, i believe, purposely have confusing terms and conditions for promotions. My website aims to explain this side of playing at casinos, so all the player has to worry about is playing the games themselves. This is the way gambling should be.
You don't walk out of a Las Vegas casino, worrying about if you've met wagering requirements or complex terms and conditions, and worrying about if you'll get paid your money.
UK List Of Online Casinos is a very simple site. It attempts to give a detailed list of casinos accepting sterling, so the UK players don't have to worry about currency conversion rates etc.
Q :: Any comments as to the current state of play regarding the online gaming industry?
A :: I think the online gaming industry is in big trouble if it doesn't get its act together quickly. Obviously there are a number of "bad apple" casinos, which hopefully will wither and die. The problem is, in my opinion, the attitude of most casino managers.
They have a fully myopic view of the industry and i believe have lost the ability to look objectively at their situation. Sign up bonuses have become so complex, that most new players won't understand them. They either ::
a) Will not play because it looks so complicated
b) Play, and make a mistake with the t+c's. Then never play again.
Casinos need to make their terms clear and concise. Customer service should be king. Treat a player well, and he/she will reguarly come back.
Gamblog Comment :; A Gambling Webmaster after my own heart ~ I concur the casinos should treat the players like the much coveted customers they are ~ or shut up shop. Terms and condition these days are so complicated I bet even a lawyer come actuarist would be scratching their head to understand them.
