2 Year Old Boy Dies From Car Falling Onto Yaverland Beach, Isle Of Wight
While listening to Talk Sport Radio I have just heard a heartbreaking news report.
Two-year-old boy dies in beach car crash on the Isle Of Wight
A child has died after a car fell onto Yaverland Beach Emergency services were called just after 4.30pm on Saturday afternoon. The F-reg silver BWW five-series fell around 10 to 15 feet from the car park near Yaverland Sailing Club. It hit a two-year-old boy from London who was on holiday with his family.
The boy?s father was also hurt in the crash. He is being treated for non life-threatening injuries at St. Mary?s Hospital in Newport. It?s believed the toddler?s mother was also nearby. She is thought to be unhurt but traumatised.
Four people were travelling in the BMW when the crash happened. The driver, who is a man in his 40s from the Isle of Wight, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has been treated for shock at St. Mary?s Hospital and is due to be questioned at Newport Police Station later. A breath test on him was negative. Police say no other vehicles were involved.
The BMW was taken away from the crash scene just after 9.00pm on Saturday night to be examined further. Yaverland beach has re-opened. Police have spoken to witnesses but are appealing for more to come forward.

Gamblog comment :: I have a 2 year old, love the seaside and just cannot imagine. If I were the crying type I would be in tears right now. I feel awful and for what it's worth just wanted to express my utter horror and offer my condolances to the family of the little guy. In a world full of shit that happens this is probably insignificant but it has burned my heart so. It just feels so close to home.
