Granted Shearer is old and Owen is not. However, while Newcastle and Shearer were powering their way through to the next round of the UEFA Cup, Michael Owen and Liverpool limped off down the tunnel all bashed up yet again.
In fact we are all hamstrung, not just Owen and Houllier Than Though (who might aswell have called the ref a cheat with what his excuse is for Liverpool bowing out). Shearer is still the most effective English striker but has retired from International football citing he needs the rest and the time to spend with his family.
Alan, Mr Shearer - why the hell do you do the commentary on every England match then? Just go home or get your kit on old boy, you sir are having a laugh ♣
