Land Casino "SANDS" Overpays A Gambler $1.4 Million

The Sands land casino overpayed Umar Siddiqui from Palo Alto a whopping $1.4 million via a bank wire and he has refused to pay it back. They have sued him for the funds which sounds fair enough to me.
It's not a new story but it's the first i've heard of it.
To be honest this story is difficult to get to the bottom of regarding the outcome of the court case but still, it's interesting to me because to be blunt I am rather pro player when possible. Well I'm a player and don't own a Casino so I am bound to be a bit biased no?
No one ever overpayed me $1.4 million so I can't comment on what it feels like to be told it must be returned, as the casino have obviously insisted.
I was under the impression gambling debts are not recoverable by law anyhow. I'm no legal eagle so I won't be jumping up and down shouting what gives here regarding whether it is actually a gambling debt or in fact a payment error.
