Henrietta Knight's Best Mate joins the horseracing greats
Henrietta Knight's superstar horse Best Mate squeezed home after being boxed in 2 out to win his 3rd consecutive Cheltenham Gold Cup. Holding a tight line up the inner all the way round in search of better ground he nearly came a cropper but like a true champion would not be denied for love nor money.
Rewriting history to join some of the horseracing greats of the past like the great ARKLE and the indomittable (5 Time Gold Cup Winner) GOLDEN MILLER Best Mate has proved his worth in no uncertain terms.
Trainer Henrietta Knight has said Best Mate will be going for a fourth Gold Cup next year and I for one will not be surprised to see him pull it off again, even though he will be 10 years old come next year.
A quality horse who is a true great - class in a cup!
